actually i quite like food-tasting but what can i say?
one of my favourite food tasting experience was at Viet Lang.
it was so cool.okay i like te restuarant's decor.
interesting.
then their viet tea and coffee is most unusual.the coffee tated bitter at first but the sweetness from the milk soon overpowered the bitterness.so contrasting isnt it?bitter and sweet.
from my understanding,lots of shredded mango and papaya was used.i was looking forward to the salad,but to my disappointment it wasnt anything great.
i thought the spring roll was crispy on the outside but it was abit too oily.oh and the lemongrass flavour was strong.
tofu with pineapple was delicious!tofu was covered with sauce but was soft inside.the pineapple topping tasted slightly spicy but it was a new experience.
i had hard time deiciding between black pepper chicken and lemongrass fish. the chicken was succulent.the fish was crispy on the outside but warm on the inside, and the lemongrass sauce gave an extra punch.
princess rice was absolutely pretty.its actually rice with lots of native vietnam condiments.of course,it didnt lack the papaya mango and spring onions.
the princess rice was presented to me as traditional food.well the condiments added flavours like sour sweet salty.
we had to stir the rice.well after all that stirring,it looked like fried rice but its taste definitely distinguishes itself and the plate that you can buy at kopitiam or zi char stall.
the beef noodles is a must try!the noodles are white.its light,since there is no egg.the sauce was light,not too saltish.then the beef was tender,well marinated!condiments were given in proportion(:
as for desert?
well you know the normal cocktail ice they sell at food chains and etc?
its THAT BUT WITH SPECIALLY CONCOCTED LEMON GRASS WATER.it taste way better.trust me,i still cant forget that sharp taste!
then creme brulee was just excellent.the pudding wasnt too sweet.its not like the syru was sickening sweet like those at the super market.it was of course sweet,but it had a tinge of coffee that gave it a kick.
